The Triple Gordon

This virtual 3 peak challenge is dedicated to the memory of Gordon Hannington, who passed away in 2019 following a lack of aftercare provision after he battled testicular cancer. It is made up of the equivalent distances, and ascents of 3 mountains that held a special meaning to him. The last mountain he climbed with his family, Cadair Idris. His favourite peak in the UK, Great Gable. A mountain he climbed as part of work with Mountain Rescue, a cause he was passionate about, Goatfell. It's no accident that these mountains fall one in England, where he made his home. One in Scotland, where a lot of his heritage was from, and the nation he represented in sport. One in Wales, Snowdonia, the home of Bala Lake, the Awen and his source of spirituality.
